Overview

The City of Monahans, TX has adopted the following codes:

• The International Building Code, 2009 edition. Code of Ordinances, City of Monahans, TX § 6-17 (amendments).
• The International Residential Code, 2009 edition. 
• The International Property Maintenance Code, 2012 edition. Code of Ordinances, City of Monahans, TX § 6-170.

The City is in the process of adopting the 2015 IRC and have it referenced in their Building Codes. Please contact the City for more information.

Residential Building Code

Texas adopted a model state residential code but it is not in force unless adopted locally.See PLRB, Texas Building Codes for more information on state level codes.

We contacted the City for additional amendments. However, no local amendments regarding § R301.2 in the 2009 IRC were recorded. Any requirement for Ice Barriers is left undetermined.
